About Fabulous Fred FM

I’m Fred Cantu, owner/operator of Fabulous Fred FM and curator of this Internet musical museum. I’m a TV news reporter in Austin, Texas by day, and Fabulous Fred FM is my creative outlet. It gives me an opportunity to enjoy and share the classic cool crooners and easy swing from the 50s, 60s and today. My first job in radio was playing great singers like Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme and Ella Fitzgerald. And my quest today is to find today’s best interpreters of the Great American Songbook. Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr and Steve Tyrell are some of the bigger names. But there are many more great singers you’ll just have to discover on your own visiting Fabulous Fred FM.
