2005年，根据广东省有关文件精神，按照广电系统政事分开、政企分开、管办分离和广电产业发展的改革要求，对原鹤山市广播电视局及直属单位的组织机构进行改革归并。撤销“鹤山人民广播电台”行政事业单位编制，保留“鹤山人民广播电台”呼号；原“鹤山人民广播电台”的行政称谓现为"鹤山广播电视台广播中心"。 广播中心主要任务是：负责办好ＦＭ１０４７一套广播节目；负责广播自办节目的策划，采访，编辑，制作，审查，播出工作；负责广播节目的精品创作和广播节目交流等工作；负责广播广告和其他创收项目的经营及管理．
