1992年9月28日，无锡经济广播电台正式开播。无锡经济广播电台是在1992年初小平同志南巡讲话发表以后，全国上下掀起改革开放新的高潮的形势下组织筹建的，是全国第一家地市级广播电视集团无锡广播电视集团旗下的一个广播频率，也是无锡广播两大主频率之一。开播至今，无锡经济广播电台始终秉承现代广播的办台理念，以“听经济广播，过品质生活”为标杆，一直是无锡广播系列台中的领军频率，也是长三角地区影响较大的广播频率之一。 无锡经济广播电台以中波1251、调频104双频发射播出，其中中波发射10KW、调频发射功率3KW，覆盖范围东到上海昆山交界、西到南京镇江交界、南到浙江湖州、北到江苏盐城淮阴等地，有效收听人口超过1000万。
