About Radio Apollo 106.8
Radio Apollo ging in de ether op 1 mei 1982, de Dag van de Arbeid. Achter de zender schuilde toen een groepje van negen minderjarige enthousiastelingen tussen 13 en 17 jaar oud. De vrienden vonden aan de Witte Gracht onderdak in de achtertuin van Flora Vercammen, ook bekend als hun geliefde moemoe Apollo. De zender bleef er gevestigd tot aan haar overlijden in 2020. Nadien trokken de deejays tijdelijk naar de oude pastorie van Wiekevorst, waarna ze verhuisden naar hun nieuwe stek in het woonzorgcentrum
