Ο ραδιοσταθμός του Δήμου Αθηναίων ΑΘΗΝΑ984, που άρχισε να εκπέμπει στις 31 Μαΐου 1987, εξακολουθεί να εκπέμπει με ένα πρόγραμμα αντικειμενικό, πολυφωνικό, χωρίς προκαταλήψεις, αποκλεισμούς και σκοπιμότητες, εκφράζοντας τους σκεπτόμενους πολίτες κι αναπτύσσοντας αμφίδρομη σχέση με τους ακροατές του. Ακολουθώντας τους σύγχρονους ρυθμούς ο ΑΘΗΝΑ 9.84 ανανεώνει συνεχώς το πρόγραμμά του με ζωντανές εκπομπές, με μοντέρνα μουσικά και κλασικά ακούσματα, αλλά και με τα ξενόγλωσσα δελτία ειδήσεων που μεταδίδονται σε 7 γλώσσες καθημερινά.
